Raw Vegan Pesto Sauce


  • 1 1/2 cups fresh basil
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup pine nuts (other nuts, such as almonds or macadamia are also OK or you can use hemp seeds to avoid nuts)
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Combine all ingredients in a food processor until nuts are ground. Pesto should still have texture and not be completely smooth. 

How to eat:

Toss it with pasta, use as a pizza sauce or serve with bread or crackers for an appetizer. We really love to use peso as mushrooms filling.
